‘I am so proud of the BBC teams who, in weeks like these, listen to those who cannot be heard in court, allowing families’ broken hearts to be seen and their voices heard.
‘Our journalists work hard to get this right and sometimes the outcome is inevitable. Suffering children must never be forgotten.’
Nina expressed her concerns about her eye as follows: ‘Thank you for your concerned messages about my asymmetrical porridge.
‘I have no pain or discomfort and my dear pharmacist is helping; My left eye just needs to stay away from make-up for a few days.’
Fans had previously expressed concern for Nina after noticing she was presenting the lunchtime news with one eye visibly makeup-free.
They wrote about X: ‘Is something really wrong with Nina Warhurst?
‘Is she only wearing make-up on one eye? This must have been clearly understood by someone… before it went on air?’

They enjoyed afternoon tea, chips and wine together before he died.
He wrote on Instagram: ‘My father died on Wednesday night.
‘From Sunday onwards, my mother and sisters spent precious time with him every hour of the day… singing, crying, laughing, sharing memories.
‘On his last day we had afternoon tea, chips and wine at the nursing home.
Nina added: ‘Me and Amy were holding him and telling him ‘keep going. “I’ll see you there soon,” he said and slowly walked away. And so he did. As the waves softened, I held my hand over his heart.
‘A gentle end to a gentle life. I will never forget so much love, laughter and sunshine throughout the days.
‘He’s always on my mind as I try to adapt to a world without him. I can’t accept that this is real yet.
‘But we think it’s really important that everyone going through this process knows that the ending can be peaceful and beautiful.’
