Beachwood man indicted in Lake County for allegedly trying to film 11-year-old in Great Lakes Mall bathroom

Joshua Yanowitz, a Beachwood man He allegedly tried to film an 11-year-old boy using the restroom at the Great Lakes Mall He was charged in Mentor, Lake County.
According to Lake County Common Pleas Court records, Yanowitz was charged with information on the following charges on Monday, April 13:

The date of the event dates back to Tuesday, December 30, 2025.
According to an earlier press release, a man called 911 and claimed someone was recording his son on the phone while the boy was using the urinal in the men’s restroom. In body camera video released by the Mentor Police Department, the suspect, identified as Yanowitz, appears before an officer about reports that he was “following young males into the bathroom and recording them.”
“It might be true,” Yanowitz is heard saying in the dining area. When he is pulled aside and asked what’s on his phone, he replies, “Probably what you described.” He later admitted that the images on his device would “probably” contain sexually explicit images.
“This is a good reminder of the importance of properly supervising young children when using public restrooms,” Mentor police previously wrote.
Following his arrest, Yanowitz pleaded not guilty in Mentor Municipal Court.
