Beijing grants visa-free entry to UK, Canada

Beijing: China confirmed on Sunday that Canadian and British citizens will be allowed visa-free entry from Tuesday, following agreements announced following the recent visits of the two countries’ leaders to Beijing.
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney traveled to Beijing in January to strengthen ties with China amid changing relations with the United States.
Both leaders welcomed the progress made in talks with senior Chinese officials, including President Xi Jinping, where visa-free travel was among the outcomes discussed.
