Belagavi Inspector-General completes Sydney Ironman

Senior IPS officer Sandeep Patil has completed the 2026 IRONMAN 70.3 Western Sydney in Australia.

Mr. Patil, posted as Inspector General of Police (IGP), Northern Range, Belagavi, completed his sixth Ironman.

Competing in the M45-49 category, Mr. Patil completed the challenging course consisting of 1.9 km swimming, 90 km cycling and 21.1 km half marathon in 7 hours 16 minutes 25 seconds.

Her race segments included a swim of 49.58, a bike ride of 3.38.03 and a run of 2.35.06, securing 77th place in her division.

He completed Ironman races in Goa, Thailand, Poland, Türkiye, Copenhagen and Sydney.

In a statement, he said each race tests his endurance differently, but they all require “consistency, discipline and a mentality of never stopping moving forward.”
