Bendigo Writers Festival cancels 2025 opening night gala at La Trobe as writers withdraw
The Bendio Writers Festival canceled the gala on the opening night, and a series of sessions were canceled while the list of authors withdrew from the event continued to grow.

The rules of behavior say that participants are expected to make speeches inviting to inclusive, thoughtful and various perspectives.
“The festivals of the authors are places where you can discuss sensitive issues – other places are universities,” he says.
