Bengal CM Suvendu Adhikari warns of being ‘worst CM’ if law & order breached

Adhikari made these remarks as the twin-engine government in Bengal completed a month in office.
“On June 20, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Tarakeswar in Bengal and various projects will be inaugurated by him,” Adhikari said. he said. “The Prime Minister will arrive in Kolkata for Yoga Diwas on June 21.”
“The Constitution is of primary importance to us and we will act in the best interests of the people,” he said.
The Prime Minister said that all central welfare benefits have been extended to Bengal and various MoUs have been signed.
Talking about the important achievements of the Narendra Modi government, Adhikari said, “Popular leader Prime Minister Narendra Modi broke all records and created history. Service to the nation has always been his main motto. The Prime Minister prefers to call himself ‘Pradhan Sevak’. He is constantly working for the country.”
“The central government’s mainstay in the last 12 years has been the combination of ‘Virasat and Vikas’. MSP for farmers is one of its major achievements,” Adhikari said. Adhikari said more than 90 airports have been developed during the tenure of the Modi government.
A small exhibition on social welfare opened in Kolkata on Friday. He also highlighted development work including infrastructure projects, medical colleges and new IITs.
He also touched upon initiatives related to women empowerment, women’s safety and security, construction of 14 crore toilets in rural areas, nearly 5 crore houses under Prime Minister Awas Yojana, distribution of free ration cards and Jal Jeevan Mission.
He also highlighted development and cultural projects, including the cycles of Buddha and Ram.
The new government has completed one month and two days in office.
According to Adhikari, 1.43 lakh people have been identified for the Ayushman Bharat scheme. He claimed that Rs 27,000 crore was looted under Jal Jeevan Mission. MGNREGA work has been restarted with an allocation of Rs 700 crore. Rs 8,500 million has been allocated under the new GRAMji scheme for 2026-27.
“An outline of the government’s plans, though not the entire budget, will be reflected in the Bengal Budget. Efforts will be made to build a self-reliant West Bengal, with local and Atmanirbhar Bharat being the main focus areas.”
“The new government in Bengal is now five weeks old. For security reasons, handover of strategic areas in Chicken’s Neck district of North Bengal to BSF and land transfer will be carried out. Census drives, Jal Jeevan Mission projects and other initiatives will also be taken up,” the Chief Minister said. he said.
“Nine districts in the border areas will be developed as vibrant villages,” he said.
He added that increasing income, creating a business and industry-friendly environment, ensuring corruption-free employment generation, implementing welfare programs for common people, maintaining law and order and strengthening women’s safety and security will continue to be the government’s priorities.
