A housing association is threatening to evict an RAF veteran over an argument over his mobility scooter, just days before Remembrance Day.
Ron Gibbs, 90, moved in with his son Jason, who was living in a housing association one-bed flat, last year as his health deteriorated.
He parked his scooter outside the back door of the property, which he used to take his two Yorkshire terriers for walks.
But last week a social housing manager from Incommunities told Mr Gibbs it was a fire risk and issued an ultimatum: Move the scooter or be kicked out of his son’s flat.
Despite Jason’s efforts to argue his father’s case with the landlord, the authorities won’t back down on the matter.
Jason, 49, from Bradford, said: ‘I rang them and spoke to the same manager and was told I didn’t like it at all. He talked to me like… I’m not going to say that word.
‘He said the scooter had to be moved or we would be evacuated and they could confiscate it.
‘I think it’s a shame. My father is an elderly veteran and they want to make him homeless right before Memorial Day.’

Speaking to The Sun, he said the incident was evidence of the lack of empathy many people in the UK have towards the country’s veterans.
The Daily Mail approached Incommunities, the social housing company run by CEO Rachael Dennis, for comment.
The Cenotaph in London is the focus of the National Remembrance Service on Remembrance Sunday.
Last week, a taxi firm in Hull offered veterans a free 600km round trip to the capital for the big day.
In a heart-warming gesture, British war heroes will be able to travel from East Yorkshire to the war memorial in London and return for the annual commemoration ceremony.
