Bengaluru Man Duped Of ₹21 Lakh In Plot Deal

Hyderabad: A 35-year-old private employee from Bengaluru was cheated of ₹ 21.35 lakh by two real estate agents who promised to register a plot in Zaheerabad but did not fulfill their commitment. Madhapur police registered a case following his petition.

The complainant, a native of Vizianagaram district residing in Koramangala, was introduced to Chandu, who claimed to be in the real estate business. In May 2024, Chandu took him to Royal Oaks settlement in Zaheerabad’s Kothar-B village, where he selected a 204 square meter plot.

He later met T. Balaji at an office in Madhapur and paid ₹99,000 as advance. He was then referred to V. Gireesh of Valleru Developers, who signed a sales agreement. Over the next few months, he transferred multiple amounts (₹ 5 lakh, ₹ 4.45 lakh and ₹ 51,800) for registration fees. Despite assurances, no reservation was made and the defendant continued to demand more money.

In November 2024, he transferred ₹ 5.30 lakh to two people and ₹ 5.10 lakh through his wife’s account, believing that the registration would be completed. However, the defendant later admitted that he diverted the money for personal use. They issued checks worth ₹22 lakh under two MoUs, both of which bounced due to insufficient funds.

Madhapur police registered a case against the accused and started an investigation.
