Benny Johnson calls out Democrats after family receives threat letter

Conservative podcaster Benny Johnson is calling for an end to political violence after a shocking threatening letter following the assassination of Charlie Kirk alarmed his family. Now he asks how many more conservatives need to be targeted for Democrats to take a stand.
“[Democrats] “We need to say enough is enough,” Johnson said on the “Saturday in America” program.
“[They need to say]’We will compromise with the extreme left wing of our party. “We’re going to admit we have a problem and we’re going to do something about it,’ but instead they’re nominating someone to ask the Virginia attorney general what exactly happened to my family yesterday.”

Johnson’s comments came in response to a threatening letter that arrived at his home recently. On Friday, he joined Attorney General Pam Bondi in announcing the arrest of the suspect accused of sending the letter. Johnson said the author graphically details how to kill violently.
“A man was accused of threatening my family, killing me and my children,” he told “The Benny Show” host Kayleigh McEnany.
“Jay Jones, who is running for attorney general in Virginia, is on record doing the same thing, calling for the killing of Republicans and Republican children, calling them ‘little fascists.'”
Johnson argued that Democrats’ failure to call on Jones to drop out of the race led to a “terrible culture.”

Jones, who is running against incumbent Republican Jason Miyares for the attorney general position in Virginia, has faced criticism following the resurfacing of 2022 text messages containing violent rhetoric about then-Virginia House Speaker Todd Gilbert and his family.
Republicans, including Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin, argue that the refusal of many Democrats to encourage Jones to drop out of the race is a symptom of a larger problem within the party.

Johnson shared this sentiment, adding: “We [Republicans] I just want a peaceful discussion. But it’s a party [the Democratic Party] “It’s escalating and I think they’ve lost the argument and they’re going to resort to violence because they’ve lost the argument and it’s terrible to see that.”
“This is something I don’t want for my country,” he said.

“This is an issue I want to see resolved, and the only way to resolve it is for Democrats to say ‘enough.’ How many more of us need to die? How many more times do we need to see our president shot in the head? How many more times do we need to see Charlie Kirks? How many more times do we need to see ICE facilities shot at? How many more Christian children praying in churches do we need to see murdered?”
Johnson called on the nation to refocus on family values and Christianity to restore respect for life and reduce violent rhetoric.
George Isbell Jr., 69, who allegedly wrote a threatening letter to Johnson, was detained in San Diego, California, on Tuesday.
He will be charged federally with sending a threatening communication, according to Attorney General Pam Bondi.
