Bharti Airtel launches Priority Postpaid service with 5G slicing
Bharti Airtel on Tuesday announced the launch of Priority Postpaid, a new service using 5G slicing technology. According to Airtel, this is the first such commercial rollout in India and the service will dynamically prioritize network capacity for postpaid customers.
The new service is specifically designed for busy customers who need uninterrupted connectivity for work, entertainment or online collaboration, the company said in a statement.
Airtel’s 5G slicing
For this service, Airtel has upgraded its 5G network with advanced slicing technology capabilities. This makes the network more efficient, creating more capacity and providing the ability to use that capacity in a targeted way to deliver a superior experience to Priority customers.
By intelligently and dynamically segmenting network capacity, Airtel delivers a stable and reliable experience for postpaid customers even when traffic demand is high.
Slicing-based 5G services were launched in many countries such as the US, Singapore, UK and Malaysia last year. Airtel’s launch is the first such launch in India, the company said, reflecting its ongoing investments in building a smarter, more resilient and future-ready digital network and strengthening its commitment to marrying advanced technology with customer-centric innovation.
“At Airtel, our focus is on delivering meaningful innovations that enhance our customers’ experience. Priority Postpaid is our latest innovation powered by 5G slicing technology. It offers our customers a superior, more reliable and reliable experience, whether they are joining a customer call in traffic, streaming at a packed concert, or booking a cab in a crowded market,” said Shashwat Sharma, MD and CEO, Airtel.
