Bigfoot sightings ‘pouring in’ to one region, sparking wild theory | US | News

Neese explains how his encounter changed his life (Image: Fox News)
Todd Neese, founder of the American Primate Conservancy and a Bigfoot researcher for over three decades, explained why Ohio has become the site of recent Bigfoot ‘activity’.
Neese told a Fox News host: “Ohio, believe it or not, ranks No. 4 out of all the states in the United States with cases, so it’s actually not that unusual. There seems to be a little pocket of them in the woods there, if you will.”
His remarks come after a new wave of Bigfoot activity reported in northeastern Ohio after a long hiatus in similar encounters. Reports have been pouring in since March, with alleged sightings concentrated throughout Portage County, between Akron and Youngstown (about 50 miles away), along with photos circulating online of massive footprints thought to be about 17 inches long and suggestive of a creature that could stand at least six feet tall.
Some witnesses speculate that the “animal” may not have been alone and that an entire “family” of sasquatches may have been crossing the area, according to Fox 9. Witnesses say they range in height from 1.8 to 3 metres, are covered in dark fur and move upright on two legs.
One statement described broad shoulders, “unusually long” arms, and even the feeling that the creature was so large that it shook the ground. Neese describes how he went from skeptic to believer after a close encounter during a 1993 military exercise in Oregon. Speaking to Fox News, Neese explained that he and three of his fellow soldiers were watched by “three of these creatures” for about 25 seconds. This experience, he claimed, changed the “entire course” of his life.

“I wasn’t interested in the subject at all, and I was growing up in the Pacific Northwest, it was part of the vernacular, but to me it was an urban legend, so to speak.
“But that all changed for me in 1993 while I was doing a military exercise in the Oregon Coast Range. Myself and three other soldiers were exposed to 3 of these, 3 of these creatures that were observing our exercises, and those 25 seconds changed my entire life,” Neese explained.
Detailing what he witnessed, Neese noted that the figures did not look “all that human” from close range, highlighting what he described as disproportionate silhouettes, particularly the unusually long arm and leg proportions relative to the human torso.
“It’s actually not that humane,” Neese described. “What I observed was that their silhouettes were completely disproportionate, so to speak, in terms of arm length and even the length of the legs relative to the human torso.

“Obviously, the ones I saw are huge, ranging from 7 to 9 ft. tall. They have a more human face, but obviously it’s just covered in hair. They’re huge, very athletic,” Neese said.
When asked why, in a world full of cameras, a definitive image has yet to emerge, Neese argued that it is largely a matter of probability. “They’re a very rare species, and so if you look at distributing 1,000 or a million cameras in the wild, the odds of one of them landing in just that particular image region are very, very unlikely,” Neese explained.
Local researcher Mike Miller, co-founder of the Ohio Nightstalkers Bigfoot Research Group, attributed the increase in sightings in the area to this year’s brutal, storm-ravaged winter and suggested that flooded habitats could force the creature into unfamiliar territory and increase the likelihood of encounters with humans.

Miller also claims to have captured howls, which he believes are unlike “any known animal in North America”, claiming that some screams were recorded louder than a monkey on the spectrograph.
Another report shared by Bigfoot Society podcast host Jeremiah Byron included a hiker’s account of the creature turning its shoulders rather than its neck; This is a detail that Byron describes as extremely important for Bigfoot researchers.
The same witness reported a strong, musky odor and a deep, growl-like sound, and stated that the encounter happened so quickly and disturbingly that they retreated without daring to approach any further. Despite an increasing number of observations, a definitive photo has not yet emerged.
