Bigg Boss 9-fame Priya Malik narrowly escapes major fire accident during Diwali celebration: ‘My entire back was…’

Actor-poet Priya Malik, known for her role in Bigg Boss 9, had a harrowing experience when her clothes and hair caught fire while she was posing for photos on Diwali night earlier this week. The actor shared that his father, who acted quickly to avoid serious injuries, saved him in a short time.

On Tuesday, Malik took to Instagram Stories to describe the terrifying moment that “shocked” him and his family. The Bigg Boss alum recalled that while she was standing near a diya while taking photos with her neighbors, her outfit suddenly caught fire and covered her “entire back from the bottom to the shoulders and hair bun”.

He wrote: “My entire back, from my back to my shoulders to my bun, was engulfed in flames in a matter of minutes due to the burning land behind me. I was taking pictures with my neighbors and before I knew it, I saw flames shooting up from my right shoulder and realized my entire back was on fire. And I’m talking about engulfing flames, not just a small fire. Luckily my father was able to tear off the burning clothes because that was the only way to escape. Burns. But this incident “It shook me and our family deeply.”

Priya admitted that the situation shook her to her core, sharing how it made her realize how life-threatening a “simple, careless moment” could be. He added: “I know we all talk about fire safety and think something like this can’t happen to us, but last night I realized that even a simple, careless moment could cost my life. There’s no way to escape a fire that’s coming towards you in flames. My dad was a hero at that moment. I’m doing well. I have superficial burns on my shoulders, back and fingers.”

“I don’t know how I survived without further damage, but this incident probably traumatized me forever from Diwali. Please take care of yourself in times like these, and most importantly, I’m glad I didn’t hold my baby when it happened. I’ll probably celebrate next year too, but it’s a lesson for life,” she concluded.
