Suspect video released after ‘racially aggravated’ Walsall rape

A woman in her 20s was raped in what police described as a racist attack.
West Midlands Police were called to the Park Hall area of Walsall at around 7.15pm on Saturday to say the woman had been attacked by a man she did not know at a nearby property.
It was stated that the attacker was white-skinned, in his 30s, with short hair and dark-colored clothes, and the police released the suspect’s security cameras.
Police said specialist officers have been working since the attack to recover video, speak to witnesses and identify the suspect.
Det Supt Ronan Tyrer described the incident as “an absolutely appalling attack on a young woman” and said police were doing all they could to arrest the man responsible.
“Whilst we are currently pursuing multiple lines of inquiry, it is vital we hear from anyone who saw a man acting suspiciously in the area at the time,” he added.
Separately, police are also investigating the rape of a Sikh woman in neighboring Sandwell.
Police said they did not link the latest attack to other crimes.
Chief Supt Phil Dolby, of Walsall Police, said: “Walsall is a diverse area and we know the fear and anxiety this horrific attack will cause in our communities.”
Police asked for witnesses and anyone with information to contact us.
