Biggest ever: Japan wins Australian navy warships deal

Australia has chosen a Japanese company to build a new fleet of $ 10 billion for the navy.
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries’ Mogami class frigate is the preferred ship on the German Meko-Class Frigate for the future fleet of the federal government.
Defense Minister Richard Marles said on Tuesday that the agreement is the biggest defense industry agreement between Japan and Australia.
“There is no country in which we have a greater strategic alignment in the world, which is reflected in a blooming defense relationship,” he said to journalists in Canberra.
“This decision is based entirely on the ability of the relevant ships.
“This represents a very important moment in the bilateral relationship between Australia and Japan.”
The minister had a comparable cost for the competitors of Mogami class warships, but Japanese ships were cheaper throughout his life.
The frigate is already in production, which makes it the only option to meet the government’s timeline.
According to the Minister of Defense Industry Pat Conroy, Australia hopes to buy its first ship in 2029 for service in 2029.
At longer distances, more missiles can fire and work more with other Australian defense assets.
New ships will replace Australia’s former Anzac class frigates.
The federal government also provided a shipbuilding pipeline in Western Australia, and some new ships will be built in Turkey.
Australia has a new agreement with the newly established strategic shipbuilder Austtal defense shipbuilding Australia Pty Ltd.
