Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Sunday said ensuring the safety of businessmen is his government’s top priority and people associated with industries in the state should maintain their trust in the government.
The Prime Minister said this while opening the business meeting organized by Bihar Chamber of Commerce and Industry to celebrate its centenary. The theme of the event was ‘Business, Politics and Development’.
Addressing the meeting, Mr. Choudhary said that the State government has formulated ‘Bihar Industrial Investment Promotion Package-2025’ to attract private investment and boost industrial growth. “Changes have already been made in this package, further changes will be made if necessary. The two most basic conditions for setting up an industry are trust and safety. We wish to see maximum investment flow in Bihar,” he said.
He stated that the business world will not face any obstacles in terms of investment and that many investors have already come to invest. “Your safety is the government’s utmost responsibility. If anyone commits a crime anywhere in the state, action will be taken against them on a priority basis within 24 hours. In Bihar, no one – irrespective of his status – is allowed to take the law into his own hands,” the Chief Minister said.

Without naming Opposition Leader Tejashwi Yadav, who recently said police encounters were against a particular caste, Mr. Choudhary said some people tend to dwell on caste and religion issues. But a criminal has no caste or religion. He added that a criminal often targets members of his or her own community first.
Bihar CM asserted that the government will take full responsibility for ensuring the safety of investors and the District Magistrate (DMs) and Superintendent of Police (SPs) will hold meetings with them every three months to address and resolve the issues.
He explained that industries cannot be established using government exchequer as public welfare activities are the sole focus of such funds.
“Our mission is to make Bihar a prosperous State and to achieve this, we have to put more emphasis on the MSME sector. Critics have often pointed out that Bihar is a landlocked State. However, we have started tackling this challenge by acquiring 14,000 acres of land in 2024. We have also launched a comprehensive district policy. New Green Field Satellite Districts will be developed on 6.5 lakh acres of land, attracting investments of $200 million.” has been set at ₹6 lakh crore,” the CM said.
The Prime Minister emphasized that efforts are being made to revitalize inactive sugar factories by integrating them into the cooperative sector.
Bihar Chamber of Commerce and Industry president PK Agarwal appreciated the CM’s advice and suggestions.
