Bill Gates ‘loved’ Jeffrey Epstein but his ex-wife Melinda banned him from speaking to the convicted sex offender in explosive messages.
Several messages in numerous Epstein files released this month offered insight into the friendship between the disgraced financier and tech mogul Gates.
According to newly released messages, Epstein spoke to Gates’ advisor in 2017 about an attempt that never materialized; This was partly because the wife of Microsoft’s founder asked them to stop talking.
Gates’ advisor told Epstein, “He wants to talk to you, but his wife won’t let him.” CBS News.
The consultant reportedly sent a series of text messages adding that he ‘loves you’, ‘says hello’ and ‘feels bad’ about having to give up job offers.
‘He thought of a great idea but his wife wouldn’t let him,’ the consultant wrote.
Melinda and Bill Gates divorced in August 2021 after 27 years of marriage, and Melinda said her friendship with Epstein was a major factor in their separation.

Gates has not been charged with any crimes related to his friendship with Epstein, who died in his prison cell on August 10, 2019.
‘Meeting with Epstein was a mistake that I deeply regret. “This was a significant error of judgment,” Gates told CBS News in 2022.

The newly released messages between Gates’ advisor and Epstein came as they were discussing the upcoming annual banquet in Washington, D.C.
Epstein hoped to sell Gates on a donor-advised fund, a tax-deductible charitable vehicle that the sex offender wanted to run.
According to his advisor, the Microsoft founder was interested in the topic but was talked out of it by Melinda.
After the advisor explained this and assured Epstein that Gates “loved” him, Epstein tried to change his mind.

Epstein’s victims were allegedly as young as 14, according to the indictment used when he was charged with sex trafficking of minors in July 2019 (seen in 2005).
Obama’s former White House adviser, Kathryn Ruemmler, said she would “be happy to sit down with Melinda and give her the other side of Jeffrey,” according to the texts.
Ruemmler, who is now Goldman Sachs’ chief legal officer, was revealed to have been close to Epstein in the final years of his life before he started working at the bank. He was not charged with any crime.
Gates met Epstein while seeking donors for his global health philanthropy, and Congress released a calendar showing their various meetings in September.
Epstein frequently met with high-flyers who sought to downplay their relationship with the convicted sex offender.
In 2008, he pleaded guilty in Florida to procuring a child for prostitution. He was detained for 13 months but was released and returned to his globe-trotting lifestyle.
Few people cut ties with him until July 2019, when he was accused of sex trafficking minors in Florida and New York.
Epstein made his fortune providing tax and real estate services to billionaires and had an extensive network of businessmen, politicians and royal family members.
Besides Gates, his social circle included Prince Andrew, Donald Trump and Bill Clinton.
The Daily Mail has reached out to both Bill and Melinda Gates for comment.
The 60-year-old philanthropist split from the Microsoft founder in May 2021 after 27 years of marriage and three children together, receiving an estimated $12.5 billion in compensation from one of the world’s richest men.

Their marriage broke down after what Melinda called “deeply troubling” revelations about Bill’s dealings with Jeffrey Epstein.
There were also rumors that he had an affair with a Microsoft employee in 2000 and a young Russian bridge player 10 years later.
The couple has three children: Jennifer (29), Rory (26) and Phoebe (23). Jennifer has two children with her husband Nayel Nassar.
Bill said he would leave less than one percent of his wealth to his children, but that still amounts to $500 million per child.
Melinda currently runs a flashy philanthropic organization in Seattle called Pivotal Ventures.
Bill has been dating Paula Hurd, the widow of former Oracle CEO Mark Hurd, since 2022.
