Despite circulating rumors about military operations in the area, the CIA confirmed the existence of the air base in 2014 following a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request, detailing its history.
But Area 51’s purpose and the origins of its infamous nickname have remained a mystery for nearly seven decades. Some suggest that the aliens housed at Area 51 resemble humans and wear uniforms similar to those of the US Air Force.
