BJK Cup: Katie Boulter and Sonay Kartal send Great Britain into semi-finals with 2-0 win over Japan

Katie Boulter hopes that an impressive 2-0 victory against Japan has protected their place in semi-finals, and hopes that the first Billie Jean King Cup championship was the “time of Britain’s time”.
Boulter and Sonay Kartal won victory in single matches on Thursday to establish the last four meetings with the US.
If the UK beat the champions 18 times, they would reach the first finals in 44 years and in general to the fifth place.
No nation has reached the BJK Cup Title Match more than four more than four.
Boulter and Jodie Burrage have produced a perfect two-fold performance in April to defeat the Netherlands 2-1 and qualify for eight team finals, and seem to continue their moments in Shenzhen.
“This team was qualified at the beginning of the year and showed a lot of hearts.” He said.
“The team deserves to be here and I hope we can go to the finals. I hope our time now.”
Boulter is the leading single player in China in the absence of Emma Raducanu, who was taken to focus on playing on the WTA tour at the beginning of September.
However, in spite of this coup, Britain seemed strong against Japan, Eagle first won 6-3 7-6 (7-4) against Ena Shibahara before Boulter Moyuka Uchijima 6-2 6-.
“Sonay showed a clinical performance, so it made it easier to follow.”
