BJP gets new state presidents; ideological association with RSS & caste factor at play

As the heads of the party enter into force, the scene is preparing for the highly expected election of the party’s national president. BJP chose K Beichhua and VP Ramalingam as the party presidents of Mizoram and Pudducherry. By blocking these two islands, the rest of the presidents who are on the short list is ideologically associated with RSS and BJP since Jan Sangh days. In the next two three days, BJP, Andhra Pradesh, Tahangana, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Western Bengal and other state/UT units will choose the chiefs of the state unit. In Andhra Pradesh, Pvn Madhav, an OBC candidate, a former party hand and associated with her family RSS, will be the chief of the party.
Similarly, Ramcherder Rao, a Brahmin in TaLangana, is set as the President of the BJP State Unit. It is strongly associated with RSS. Two trade union ministers – Bandi Sanjay (OBC) and G Kishen Reddy – the party chose Brahmin as the state unit here.
It is likely that Mahandra Bhatt will continue as the head of the state unit in Uttarakhand. In this rugged province, dominated by Politics Thakurs and Brahmin, and Thakur, Pushkar Singh Dhami and the Prime Minister of the State, the party elected Brahmin as the head of state.
Similarly, the neighboring Himachal Pradesh may continue as the President of the Rajiv Bandal BJP State Unit. Here, too, Thakurs and Brahmin are dominant. Jairam Thakur chose Brahmin, the leader of the State Assembly and a Brahmin, Brahmin, Brahmin and a Baniya with strong relations with Sangh.
Hemant Khandelwal is seen as a pioneer for the state’s post of the state unit.
