BJP names 5 candidates for Legislative Council polls

The BJP on Sunday announced five candidates for the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council elections scheduled to be held later this year. The names approved by the Central Election Committee include two names for the graduate district and three for teachers.

For the Lucknow graduates seat, the party has selected Awanish Kumar Singh as its candidate. Manvendra Pratap Singh will contest from Agra graduates seat.

Hari Singh Dhillon will contest from Bareilly-Muradabad teachers’ seat, while Umesh Dwivedi and Shrichand Sharma will contest from Lucknow and Meerut teachers’ seats respectively.
