BJP’s West Bengal win will strengthen anti-infiltration drive: Assam CM

GUWAHATI
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday, May 4, 2026, said the Bharatiya Janata Party’s landslide victory in West Bengal will go a long way in checking infiltration from the India-Bangladesh border.
Addressing reporters after the BJP and its allies won 102 of the 126 Assembly seats in Assam, the Prime Minister said the party’s performance in West Bengal was a victory not only for the East Indian State but also for the country beyond, especially the north-east region.
