Moment drunk driver catapults motorcyclist into the air while he waits at a red light

The drunk driver who crashed into a motorcycle waiting at a red light was arrested.
Eden Mander, 19, collided with a Toyota Yaris on Epsom High Street in Surrey just after 1am.
The driver was thrown into the air as the Yaris rolled over and hit another vehicle waiting at the intersection.
Mander was seen by several witnesses to get out of his car and walk away from the crash without paying attention to the motorcyclist or attempting to call emergency services.
He only admitted to being the driver of the Yaris when questioned by officers about his involvement.
He failed a breath test, which found he was over twice the legal limit, so he was arrested at the scene on suspicion of drink driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
The motorcyclist required multiple surgeries for his injuries and will require continued treatment.
Mander was sentenced to 16 months in prison for causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

Eden Mander, 19, collided with a Toyota Yaris on Epsom High Street in Surrey just after 1am.
This will run concurrently with the four-month prison sentence for drink driving. He was banned from driving for three years.
Sergeant Adam Pegler said: ‘This incident is a reminder of how dangerous drink driving is.
‘It’s fortunate that no one died, but the victim has a long road to recovery; Someone who is returning home from work and whose life is changed due to the selfish and careless actions of another person.
‘I urge anyone considering drink driving to remember this case and think twice before putting themselves and other people at risk.’
