Blake Lively, Justin Baldoni reach settlement in ‘It Ends With Us’ lawsuit

Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni chose to settle their nearly two-year legal battle weeks before trial, Fox News Digital has confirmed.
“The final product, the film ‘It Ends With Us,’ is a source of pride for all of us who worked to bring it to life. Raising awareness and making a meaningful impact on the lives of victims of domestic violence and all survivors is a goal we stand behind,” they said in a joint statement.
“We acknowledge that the process presents challenges and acknowledge that the concerns raised by Ms. Lively deserve to be heard. We remain firmly committed to workplaces that are free from impropriety and unproductive environments. We sincerely hope that this brings closure and allows all involved to move forward constructively and peacefully, including through a respectful online environment.”

After fighting in court for the past year and a half, a federal judge granted permission Explosive retaliation claims from Lively Moving forward with high-profile Hollywood case; It highlights what could be considered a coordinated effort by powerful insiders to manipulate public opinion and destroy the actress’s reputation.
But Judge Lewis J. Liman dismissed most of Lively’s claims against Baldoni, including accusations of sexual harassment and defamation. The judge’s decision narrowed the case to focus solely on the actor’s retaliation claims and breach of contract claims.
Baldoni and Lively first became embroiled in a legal feud after filming “It Ends With Us,” adapted by Colleen Hoover. The “Gossip Girl” actress claimed she was sexually harassed on set and filed a lawsuit against Baldoni in December 2024.

Sexual harassment allegations in vivid detailA complaint against Baldoni and filmmaker Jamey Heath, first filed with the California Department of Civil Rights and later in federal court, cited retaliation, intentional infliction of emotional infliction, negligence and more.
Baldoni insisted that Lively had “falsely” accused him in an attempt to repair his reputation following the fallout from the film’s press tour after Lively gained control of the film in a $400 million libel lawsuit.
Baldoni’s case has since been dismissed.

As the duo prepared to go to trial on May 18, Lively claimed she lost a significant amount of income due to the defendants’ alleged behavior. The “A Simple Favor” star’s legal team claimed that narratives in the media and on social platforms that labeled her a “bully” and a “bad girl” cost her nearly $300 million.
The “Jane the Virgin” star and her company are seeking a finding of no liability and a permanent dismissal of the case.
