Blake Lively’s Hollywood BLAST ZONE: Every member of A-list clique caught in Baldoni battle crossfire… and humiliating texts that will never go away

The last thing they wanted to do was take the witness stand in a Manhattan courtroom to testify about the behind-the-scenes drama surrounding It Ends with Us.

Blake Lively’s A-list friends can now breathe a sigh of relief as she settled her case against director and co-star Justin Baldoni two weeks ahead of trial.

The legal proceedings would create a blast zone and call on some of Hollywood’s biggest names, including Taylor Swift, Bradley Cooper, Ben Affleck and her own husband Ryan Reynolds, to clean up the mess of the drama surrounding the film.

Even though the protracted case has now been concluded and a brief joint statement has been issued, the effects of the bitter legal battle will likely not end.

Although both have upcoming projects, neither Lively, 38, nor Baldoni, 42, are in particularly good shape thanks to the saga of Baldoni leaving Hollywood behind and moving to Nashville with her family.

Lively has seen high-profile friendships rekindle with former pals, such as when Swift became angry after being dragged into a legal dispute.

Blake Lively returned to the red carpet at the Met Gala on Monday, just hours after wrapping up her legal battle with Justin Baldoni.

Despite the size of Blake Lively's claims, the surprise deal in which no money changed hands was seen as a win for Justin Baldoni.

“This agreement between Lively and Baldoni comes as no surprise,” entertainment lawyer Tre Lovell of the Los Angeles Lovell Firm told the Daily Mail.

‘Every celebrity had already suffered a blow to their brand and career, and a loss at trial would make the situation exponentially worse.

‘The best move was to resolve the case and save both their reputations and present their best side.’

Lively launched the legal battle in December 2024, making 13 lurid allegations that Baldoni sexually harassed her and launched a smear campaign against her; 10 of those, including the sexual harassment component, were dismissed by Judge Lewis Liman last month.

The trial was still set to begin on May 18, but covered only three crimes: retaliation, aiding and abetting retaliation, and violation of an agreement known as the Covenant Rider.

Baldoni filed a countersuit in January 2025 naming Reynolds as a defendant who dragged Swift and other celebrities, including Reynolds, into the legal impasse.

Vibrant and pop star Taylor Swift once shared a close relationship until their friendship became strained due to a high-profile case.

Emily Blunt was also listed as a potential witness who could testify about the alleged behavior of those involved.

Gigi Hadid also listed as potential trial witness in legal filings

Memorably, Baldoni’s team included a statement from Lively, 38, comparing herself to Game of Thrones character Khaleesi and referring to Reynolds and Swift as her “dragons.”

Just a month after the countersuit was filed, Lively made a notable appearance in the billionaire singer’s box at the Super Bowl, where she supported fiancé Travis Kelce — the year before, she had been front and center in the Kansas City Chiefs’ victory in Las Vegas.

Swift became even more angry when Baldoni’s team tried to subpoena messages between her and Lively, and the former friends were not photographed together for over a year.

Reynolds also took a hit in this saga, and Lively was flying solo as she appeared in court alone in February, making a surprise appearance at the Met Gala hours after settling the case.

Baldoni, 42, was accompanied to court by his wife of 13 years, Emily.

Worse still was an embarrassing document dump in January that left several legal filings unsealed and dragged a virtual galaxy of stars into the case.

Most of the blushes were Lively’s; Documents show the mother of four spent hours texting Swift about the case, involving her husband’s friends Matt Damon and Ben Affleck.

As the case became increasingly personal, Lively's husband, Ryan Reynolds, was also named in Baldoni's countersuit.

Bradley Cooper, who worked as a producer on It Ends With Us, was dragged into the drama after court filings revealed that he was not named in Lively's letter to the PGA.

A-LISTERS CAUGHT IN THE CROSSFIRE

An unsealed witness list has revealed how far-reaching the legal battle could be, with a host of A-list stars potentially called to testify about behind-the-scenes drama.

TAYLOR SWIFT

The pop superstar, one of the most notable names on the list, could have been grilled about everything from the parties’ alleged behavior, complaints or arguments about the work environment on set, to the production of the film to the publicity surrounding it to the alleged retaliatory campaign against Lively.

HUGH JACKMAN

Jackman, a close friend of Lively and known close friend of her husband Ryan Reynolds, was listed as a potential witness on a wide range of matters, including on-set behavior, the film’s creative process, marketing, promotion and the alleged smear campaign.

EMILY BLUNT

The actress was also listed as a potential witness who could testify about the alleged conduct of those involved and the surrounding allegations of retaliation.

SCOOTER BRAUN

The industry powerhouse could have been asked to testify about the alleged conduct of both parties

AMERICA FERRERA

Potential testimony from Lively’s friend and former co-star covered a broad scope, including on-set behavior, working conditions, film production and editing, promotional and marketing efforts, and retaliatory efforts.

GIGI HADID

The pattern is named in relation to possible information regarding complaints or arguments about behavior on the movie set.

In her messages to Affleck and Damon, Lively complained that filming It Ends With Us was “the saddest experience I’ve ever had on a movie,” adding:[it] It almost killed me’.

Other messages in the files came from Vogue chief Anna Wintour, who is hosting the Met Gala with Reynolds and Lively in 2022, and described It Ends with Us as “a very brave and touching film.”

He also hinted that he was aware of the drama with Baldoni, writing: ‘Knowing how difficult this was for you made me especially proud of you.’

Bradley Cooper was also dragged into the drama after Lively’s five-page letter to the Producers Guild of America (PGA) to get the coveted producing credit was presented in court filings that showed he omitted the name of his “friend” while highlighting the “tremendous work” he did on the film.

The unsealed witness list obtained by the Daily Mail following Monday’s surprise settlement also underlined how many high-profile figures could be brought to trial at the trial.

Among the names on the list were Emily Blunt, Gigi Hadid, Hugh Jackman and three members of the HAIM group who were said to have ‘potential information about the events’.

Others on the list include America Ferreira, It Ends With Us star Jenny Slate, and Lively’s Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants co-stars Alexis Bledel and Amber Tamblyn.

But of all the names on the list, the person most affected by this violent struggle was author Colleen Hoover, author of It Ends with Us.

Hoover, 41, who was initially excited to see his novel turned into a movie, said in a recent interview that he was embarrassed by the legal quagmire.

“I can’t even recommend it anymore,” Hoover told Elle in November. ‘I feel like that [the lawsuit] left in the shadow.

‘I’m almost ashamed to say that I wrote this. When people ask what I do, I say, “I’m a writer. Please don’t ask me what I write.”‘

The fallout from the vicious legal battle is likely to linger for both Lively and Baldoni

Some big names were also indirectly implicated, such as Hailey Bieber, who allegedly appeared in a social media post that Baldoni showed his team accusing him of bullying other women.

An approving Baldoni is alleged to have commented to his journalist: ‘This is what we need.’

Also implicated in the case were Johnny Depp and his ex-wife Amber Heard, who were the subject of a memorable argument between Reynolds and his manager Warren Zavala.

In one text exchange, Zavala suggested the couple stop and “see if the noise is dying down,” to which Reynolds responded: “How did that happen for Depp?”, referring to Heard’s harassment allegations.

Recalling the course of the fight between Lively and Baldoni, Zavala said: ‘Not very good. As a result, craters opened up in both of them.’
