Bodies of Two Teens Retrieved from Waterfall

Hyderabad: The bodies of two children who drowned in the Musi river in Rajendranagar were traced on Sunday evening. Rajendranagar fire station officials, who participated in the rescue operations, found that the deceased was a Class 10 student and the other was an employee of the electronic goods exhibition hall.
The duo, residents of Sulemannagar, had gone to watch the Rajendranagar waterfalls along with four other people, mostly students. One of the young people who could not swim jumped into the water and started to struggle. To save him, the other little boy also went into the water and got lost.
Even though the people on the shore shouted their names, he could not find his friends. The two people who panicked quickly ran away from the scene. The other two notified the police. Police called fire personnel, who retrieved the bodies after a four-hour search. Their parents have been informed and Rajendranagar police are currently in the process of recording their statements to lodge an FIR.
The fire on the 8th floor was extinguished
Hyderabad: A fire broke out in an eighth-floor flat of BRC Apartments in Manikonda on Sunday afternoon, sparking panic among residents. The fire was extinguished and there was no loss of life. According to Gachibowli fire station, the fire started from the electrical shaft of the house and officials suspected that the fire was due to a short circuit.
Noticing the sparks, family members informed the fire brigade around 2 pm, following which a team of Gachibowli firefighters rushed to the spot along with a fire truck coming from Madhapur station. The flames were brought under control within 20 minutes and the fire was prevented from spreading to other flats or places in the building.
During the operation, those living in the block where the flat was located were evacuated to avoid any injuries in case the fire spread.
No complaint was made to the police regarding the incident. Following the incident, videos of the incident were widely spread on social media platforms.
A woman died by suicide in Hayathnagar
Hyderabad: A 40-year-old woman living at Unicorpus Word and Deed Campus at Peddamberpet in Hayathnagar died by suicide. It was stated that the deceased was Ganddamalla Vasantha, a 40-year-old cleaning worker who lived on campus.
Vasantha was found unconscious by her colleagues at her home on campus around 13:00. He was transported to a hospital where he was placed on a ventilator. He later passed away.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Vasantha had been mentally disturbed for some time. His body was taken to Osmaniye State Hospital for preservation and autopsy.
7 people arrested for gambling
Hyderabad: 7 people were detained for gambling in a raid on a hostel in Kukatpally on Saturday night. Acting on a tip-off, a police team led by Detective Inspector M. Kondala Rao raided the rooftop of Laxmi Hostel at 10 pm. Police arrested seven persons involved in teen patti playing and seized cash of Rs.97,370. The accused have been identified as Laxman Prasad Joshi, Bogati Yogendra, Hikmat Bahadur Bogati, Bharath Prasad Dhamala, Purna Prasad Jaisi, Amar Kunwar and Nirpa Bahadur Thakulla, all working as security guards or private employees.
Alcohol driving cases on the rise in Siberabad
Hyderabad: Cyberabad police said drunk driving cases increased sharply over the weekend, with 534 drivers being booked against 416 drivers in the previous weekend. Officials said the increase reflected tougher enforcement. Of these, 435 were two-wheelers, 18 three-wheelers, 79 four-wheelers and two heavy vehicles.
The blood alcohol level of 22 of those who made reservations was between 301 and 550 mg/100 ml. Police said that between October 6 and 11, 296 cases were solved, 264 offenders were fined, 32 were jailed and 35 were assigned to social work. Only six criminals were sent to prison last week.
