M1: Travel chaos on major motorway after crash and oil spill | UK | News

Traffic came to a standstill on the M1 this morning as passengers faced a collision and oil spill and traffic was backed up for two miles. The collision occurred on the northbound carriageway in Buckinghamshire, between J14 and J15 near Milton Keynes. National Highways said it received reports of oil spills following the incident, to which emergency services responded.

After traffic was released, two lanes remain closed, causing a delay of approximately 20 minutes for normal traffic. National Highways read: “Traffic northbound has been cleared on the M1 in Buckinghamshire between J14 (MiltonKeynes) and J15 (Northampton) following a collision. Lanes 3 and 4 remain closed (from 4). Lanes 1 and 2 are open. Please allow extra time for your journey. Thank you for your patience.”
