Boston residents were left petrified after a powerful explosion shook their homes on Saturday as police investigated the ‘bizarre’ incident.
Neighborhood residents heard a ‘loud explosion’ that shook the buildings around 14:00 on Saturday.
The cause of the explosion is currently under investigation and initial reports said it may have come from the Brighton area, a Boston Police Department spokesperson told the Daily Mail.
‘I don’t know [what it is]’ said the spokesman. ‘I get a lot of calls.
‘This is a bit weird.’
Police told the Daily Mail officers were dispatched to the Brighton area and an active investigation was ongoing.
Authorities do not believe there is an active threat to civilians at this time.
