Hyderabad Police Impose Prohibitory Orders Ahead of Jubilee Hills Bypoll

Hyderabad: Hyderabad police have banned any campaign activities in the last 48 hours before polls close in Jubilee Assembly constituency on November 11.
However, it was announced that this situation does not restrict the house-to-house visit of less than five people within the 48-hour period ending at the time determined for the closing of the polls.
Police banned the carrying of sticks, lathis, firearms or other weapons that can be used as weapons for offensive or defensive purposes, with or without flags, in marches, large gatherings or rallies within one kilometer of polling stations.
Police also prevent any kind of procession or shamianas, pandals, etc. on streets, public places and all other places where public may be present in large numbers. It also prohibits the establishment of temporary structures such as
Playing music, singing or making speeches or broadcasting through loudspeakers or other instruments is also prohibited, as is the use of microphones or public address systems by any person or party within the boundaries of the Jubilee Hills assembly constituency.
Speech, gesture or mimetic representation, display or dissemination of images, symbols, banners or any other thing that could create religious hostility or hatred between different communities or individuals, or that could lead to the commission of an offense of disturbance or disrespect for the law or a lawful authority, was also prohibited.
However, the following are exempt from the implementation of this order: on-duty police officers (including Internal Security and SPOs), on-duty military and para-military personnel, on-duty election officials.
According to Hyderabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar, any person violating the orders will be prosecuted. The decision will be valid from 18:00 on November 9 to 6 a.m. on November 12, and from 6 a.m. on November 14 to 6 a.m. on November 15.
