Boxing champ Tyson Fury ditches UK after Rachel Reeves tax grab | UK | News

Boxing legend Tyson Fury has left the UK for the tax-friendly Isle of Man just weeks after Rachel Reeves’ Budget. The 37-year-old heavyweight boxer is understood to be living in an £8million mansion outside the island’s capital Douglas with his wife Paris, 36, and their seven children.
The Isle of Man is known for its generous tax rates; Income tax is currently 21% compared to the 40% higher tax rate in the UK. The former boxing world champion is now liable for 45% tax as his earnings exceed the £125,140 threshold. Companies House records dated 1 December confirm that the boxer has officially changed his country of residence to a self-governing Crown Dependency.
His wife did the same with her own business records.
The boxer’s fortune is estimated at around £160 million, and the island often attracts high net worth individuals due to its lack of inheritance tax.
Fury has not commented publicly on the move but a source told The Sun: “Tyson has been telling friends he is moving to the island.
“He loves the Isle of Man and tells its residents he looks forward to making it his home.
“The couple also checks out schools in the area for their youngest child.”
It comes just weeks after Chancellor Rachel Reeves introduced a new tax on properties worth more than £2 million; a value easily exceeded by the couple’s family home in Morecambe.
Earlier this year, Fury was seen sailing to the island, which passes through Liverpool and Heysham, near the Fury family’s home in Morecambe.
“I had the privilege of meeting and chatting with this wonderful man and his family in Manxman this morning,” one traveler said on Facebook.
The former world champion was spotted at Terry’s Tatos in Douglas last week, where he reportedly spent around £60.
Director Rachel Marsland, 47, said: “I turned around and saw Paris Fury come through the door and I recognized her instantly; then I turned and saw Tyson come through the door.
“He said: ‘Do you have enough potatoes for us?’ ‘How many of you are there?’ I said.
“He said: ‘There are nine of us.’ At this point I was closing in 15 minutes and there were nine potatoes left in the oven.’
“He said: ‘Great; there are nine of us, so we’ll buy the land.’
In June it was revealed that the boxer’s company, Tyson Fury Ltd, had £162 million in cash and investments. The firm’s value has risen by £82 million since 2023, but Tyson paid itself just £100,000.
The Daily Express has approached Fury’s representatives for comment.
