Boy, 16, arrested after woman dies at Manchester house | UK | News
Police said a 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman died in her home on the morning of July 8. Emergency services were called to the scene of an attack at an address in Burnage, south Manchester.
Manchester Police said they responded to the incident at around 8am. Police stated that a woman in her 60s was unfortunately reported dead by the teams arriving at the scene.
Police added that a teenage boy was arrested and is being held for questioning.
An investigation launched by Greater Manchester Police detectives is ongoing.
A police car was seen along the residential street on Wednesday evening.
In a statement, a police spokesman said: “Officers responded to reports of an assault at an address in Ivylea Road, Burnage, at around 8am today (08/07/26).
“Unfortunately, a woman in her 60s died at the scene, and a 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of murder. He is being held in custody for questioning.”
