Brad Pitt’s daughter Zahara and son Maddox take final steps to DROP dad’s last name after Angelina Jolie divorce
Brad Pitt’s two children are now moving away from their famous father.
According to court documents obtained by The Daily Mail, both Pitt’s daughter Zahara and son Maddox have issued statements revealing their intention to drop the word “Pitt” from their last names.
Both ads were published Los Angeles Daily Journal during June and July.
Zahara’s announcement states, ‘Plaintiff Zahara Marley Joley-Pitt has filed a petition with this court seeking an order changing the names as follows: Zahara Marley Jolie-Pitt to Zahara Marley Jolie.’
‘Plaintiff Maddox Chivan Jolie-Pitt petitions this court for an order changing the names to: Maddox Chivan Jolie-Pitt to Maddox Chivan Jolie,’ Maddox’s announcement states.
The notices both invite opposing parties to attend a scheduled hearing on the matter; Zahara’s hearing will be held on September 28, and Maddox’s hearing will be held on September 14.

The Daily Mail has reached out to Angelina and Brad’s representatives for comment but has yet to hear back.
This post comes after Zahara filed a petition demanding that she drop ‘Pitt’ and change her new name to Zahara Marley Jolie.
She publicly dropped her last name when she joined a sorority at Spelman College three years ago.

A source previously told TMZ that Pitt thinks Jolie is blocking her children from seeing him. Jolie and Pitt were raising six children together before filing for divorce in 2016.
His children, Shiloh and Vivienne, also stopped using Pitt’s last name. It is not known whether Pax also stopped using this name.
After meeting on the set of the 2005 film Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Pitt and Jolie were seen as Hollywood’s ‘It’ couple throughout their long-term relationship.
They married in a secret ceremony in the South of France in August 2014, and during their love they welcomed three children: Shiloh in 2006 and twins Vivienne and Knox in 2008.
They also adopted two more people, Zahara and Pax, and Pitt legally adopted Angelina’s son Maddox, whom he adopted before the union.

Zahara has not used her father’s surname for many years.
But the incident came to a head in 2016 when the couple allegedly got into a physical fight with their six children during a private flight.
Jolie later claimed Pitt ‘choked’ one of the children and ‘hit’ the other in the face during the terrifying argument, leaving her and the children feeling like ‘hostages’ and cowering in fear under blankets for hours until they landed on the ground.
He also claimed that at some point during the flight he grabbed her by the head, slammed her against the wall and shook her violently, resulting in injuries to her back and elbow.
Pitt’s rep initially called Jolie’s statement a “complete lie” to CNN, but later released an amended statement to the publication: “Angelina’s story continues to evolve each time she tells it.”
‘Brad has accepted responsibility for what he did, but he won’t take responsibility for things he didn’t do. He has been the target of all kinds of personal attacks and misrepresentations.
A source previously told TMZ that Pitt thinks Jolie is blocking her children from seeing him.
‘Fortunately the various public officials he has tried to use against him over the last six years have made their own independent decisions. Brad will continue to respond in court as he consistently does.’
Since their split, the two stars have been embroiled in one of the most publicized legal battles in Hollywood history over custody of their children and the winery they once owned together.
After years of filing lawsuits in court, Pitt and Jolie were officially granted joint custody of their six children in May 2021, but a month later the judge’s decision was overturned.
