Brandy apologizes to fans after health issues force abrupt show exit

Brandy walked off stage at the Chicago stop of her “The Boy is Mine” tour on Saturday due to health issues.

In videos shared on social media, Brandy told the crowd at the United Center that she needed a moment off stage but never returned to sing as part of her tour with R&B singer Monica.

On Sunday, the “Have You Ever” singer revealed she was experiencing dehydration and fatigue on stage and apologized for abruptly ending the show.

“To my beloved fans in Chicago, thank you for your overwhelming love, support, and most importantly, your prayers,” he wrote on social media.

“I sincerely apologize for the sudden end to last night’s performance in Chicago. After weeks of continuous rehearsals, I became dehydrated and felt the urge to faint last night. Everyone involved agreed that it was extremely important to prioritize my well-being.”

“Even though I wasn’t feeling well, I still decided to try and come back and do the best I could. Unfortunately it was impossible to fully connect with the production ionically as I had to make some adjustments and the show was very technical.”

After leaving the stage, Monica sang the rest of the performance alone, and the crowd left without hearing her song of the same name, “The Boy Is Mine.”

Brandy credited “everyone’s best efforts,” including her performing partner, to make the concert happen.

“I am deeply grateful to my sister Monica for stepping up with such grace and professionalism and to the entire team for their continued care and support,” she wrote.

“I left the arena to see a nearby doctor and took the necessary precautions to help move forward. Your understanding, patience, and unwavering faith mean the world to me.”

Despite Saturday’s concert ending abruptly, Brandy assured fans she would be back on stage in no time.

“I look forward to returning to the stage tonight in Indianapolis with my daughter, Monica, stronger and more grateful than ever,” Brandy concluded in her statement.
