Brett Odgers OAM: Canberra’s Griffin plan champion dies at 86 | The Canberra Times

Brett, a leading critic of decisions that compromised Griffin’s core elements, has never been interested in the criticism for its own sake. Through lectures, presentations, and participation in conservation management planning, he argued for the continued validity of Griffin’s principles: consistent geometry, readable axes and vistas, generous landscape structure, and respect for the symbolic heart of the National Triangle and the lake environment. He also pressed for stronger institutional arrangements, better integration between federal and regional planning, and management conscious of Canberra’s national importance.
