Brewers human howitzer Jacob Misiorowski breaks his own record for hardest pitch thrown by a starter

Just a few weeks ago, Milwaukee Brewers righty Jacob Misiorowski absolutely melted some minds by throwing a 104.5 mph heater past Phillies slugger Kyle Schwarber.

It was an MLB record for the hardest pitch ever thrown by a starter, and came after Misiorowski had thrown multiple pitches at 103 and even 104 mph in the same inning.

He’s at it again, and we might want to start putting pen to paper on the record books, because it probably won’t be the last time.

The Brewers were squaring off against the Chicago Cubs, and it looks like Misiorowski, perhaps unsurprisingly, is at his best with velocity when he’s fresh.

Like Schwarber earlier this month, Cubs center fielder Pete Crow-Armstrong was the leadoff hitter.

He took Misiorowski’s 0-2 bid and was fouled on the third line.

Of course, that wasn’t what attracted attention. The notable part was that the score today said the course was 105 mph.

Officially, it really was 105.5 mph.

To quote Charlie Brown: “Have a good grief.”

A few curls a day, some deeper stretches and maybe a bowl of Wheaties, and I don’t think there’s any doubt that Misiorowski can take what is probably the hardest step for anyone to take.

That 105.5 mph throw ties him with Ben Joyce of the Los Angeles Angels, who has a 105.5 mph throw in 2024.

The two fastest pitches ever recorded belong to Red Sox pitcher Aroldis Chapman, who threw at 105.7 and 105.8 mph.
