Adelaide Cottage was ‘never original plan for William and Kate’ | Royal | News

According to royal sources, Adelaide Cottage was reportedly never in Prince William and Princess Kate’s “original plan” and the couple were forced to “compromise”. Kate and William, both 43, are said to have wanted to raise their three children at the Royal Lodge but Prince Andrew has refused to move.
The couple moved to Adelaide Cottage in 2022, but this was because their first choice appeared impossible to secure. Following their move from Kensington Palace, Kate and William are said to want to move into the 30-room Royal Lodge with 12-year-old Prince George, 10-year-old Princess Charlotte and 7-year-old Prince Louis.
Adelaide Cottage is located about 3 miles from Royal Lodge, where Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson have lived since 2003.
A royal source told the Mail on Sunday: “It was never our plan for them to go to Adelaide Cottage. But they had to because Prince Andrew wouldn’t relocate.”
The family of five, who will soon be moving from Adelaide Cottage, will move to Forest Logde.
The move is said to take place during the upcoming school holidays, which is the perfect time for George, Charlotte and Louis to get used to their new home.
Forest Lodge, like Royal Lodge, is located in peaceful surroundings with plenty of woodland and open space nearby.
The eight-bedroom Georgian mansion will reportedly allow the family to make a “fresh start”.
A well-placed royal source said the couple had relocated in a bid to turn over a new leaf as the last few years had been marked by personal difficulties.
The source said: “This isn’t just about him [Kate’s] The Queen died of cancer while living in Adelaide and there were all the attacks coming from California. “They both want a fresh start and moving to Forest Lodge gives them that.”
