Brisbane rideshare driver accused of rape, stalking after passengers go to police
A Brisbane rideshare driver has been charged with harassment, rape, coercive control and threats of violence.
The 29-year-old man from Ferny Hills is accused of harassing two women he had sex with as part of his job and a third woman he was in a previous relationship with.
A 21-year-old woman reported being dropped off home from Fortitude Valley in a Mercedes-Benz A45 ridesharing vehicle on November 1, 2024.
The driver allegedly shared social media information with the woman and sent her messages over the next seven days, threatening to go to her workplace.
She never met him again and blocked him on social media before going to the police station to report the matter.
About six months later, the driver of the same Mercedes-Benz picked up a 27-year-old woman.
He allegedly contacted her via social media and the pair began a relationship in June that year before he repeatedly accessed her phone and threatened assault.
She tried to end the relationship many times until the driver allegedly came to her house unannounced and sexually assaulted her on the night of July 20.
Despite being told not to contact him again, he allegedly returned to her home on August 17 and threatened her before leaving because other people were there.
Police also alleged that a 20-year-old woman had an affair with the man years ago, in November 2020.
Over the course of two months, he allegedly assaulted her and spied her phone, calling her several times a day and coming to her home when she did not answer.
The woman ended the relationship in early 2021 and reported the man to the police in May of that year.
Police searched his Ferny Hills home in November 2025 and seized cell phones and a laptop.
The 29-year-old woman was charged with one count each of rape, coercive control and threats of violence, and three counts of stalking.
He will next appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on 17 April 2026.
Detectives said they were appealing for anyone with similar experience to come forward but declined to name the ride-sharing company the man worked for.
