Brisbane schools where students scored top ATAR score of 99.95
As high schools in Brisbane celebrate their 2025 graduates, an elite boys’ school in the city center may be the school to be most proud of.
While not all schools provide a detailed breakdown of student grades, most schools that educate 37 students who achieved the state’s highest grade (99.95 ATAR) support their success.
Here’s a list of the schools attended by top students, along with the names of students for whom schools have shared them publicly.
There are seven students at Brisbane Grammar School in Spring Hill who achieved ATAR scores of 99.95, including dux Benjamin Li.
In an article on the school’s website, Li said he learned the value of discipline and hard work at BGS. “It feels good to have that hard work recognized,” he said.
Its neighbor, Brisbane Girls Grammar, has four students who scored 99.95: Saathvika Maturu, Zara Walsh, Mei Mei Zhang and Grace Gong.
There are three boys who achieved top marks at the Anglican Church Grammar School, known as Churchie, in East Brisbane.
Another school with the top three students is Mansfield State High School, a large public school on the south side of Brisbane. Students Nevindie Botheju, Doris Wei and Andrea Wang achieved ATAR scores of 99.95, with their school praising their “quiet determination, resilience and integrity”.
Somerville House, a private girls’ school in South Brisbane, has two students, Rachel Chen and Ee Lin Saw, and the school says they are “incredibly proud of their hard work and dedication”.
All Hallows, an inner-city Catholic girls’ school, had one pupil with an ATAR of 99.95: Eliza Lee.
There was also a school named Lucian De Wet at St Joseph’s Nudgee College in Boondall, as did its rivals St Joseph’s Gregory Terrace and Cooper Dooley in Spring Hill.
While co-educational private school John Paul College had a top-ranked student named Chanu Jung, Ambrose Treacy College in Indooroopilly celebrated the same result with dux Lachlan Kunde.
On Thursday evening, the Queensland Academy of Science Mathematics and Technology (QASMT) did not publicly release its students’ results. But graduate Katherine Lu was named one of the state’s top achievers by the state’s higher education admissions center earlier in the day.
On the Gold Coast, Somerset College in Mudgeeraba achieved what it called its “best results ever”, with three students achieving 99.95 points. St Hilda’s pupil Sarah Bigg and AB Paterson College’s Matilda Grant also achieved top marks.
Sunshine Coast Grammar School celebrated student Nicholas Heeks’ 99.95 ATAR as he paid tribute to his supportive friends and passionate teachers.
Townsville Grammar School, outside the south-eastern corner of the state, has praised two girls, Harini Ramesh and Winnie Shaw, for their great achievements.
