Bristol woman Kelcie Reed charged after teen Morgan Dorsett dies in XL bully attack

A woman has been charged after an XL bully fatally attacked a teenager.
Kelcie Reed, 24, is expected to go to trial in April. He is accused of taking responsibility for a dog that got dangerously out of control and caused fatal injuries.
Morgan Dorsett, 19, died following an incident at a flat in Withywood, Bristol, on February 26, 2025.
A Shrewsbury, Shropshire teenager suffered fatal bites to his neck. The dog was then put down.
Avon and Somerset Police said Reed, of Lawrence Weston, Bristol, will appear at the city’s magistrates court on April 23.
No further action will be taken for a man in his 20s who was also arrested in 2025.
“This is a significant milestone in our investigation into Morgan’s tragic death last year,” Detective Sergeant Rich Glanville said.
“His family continues to keep informed about the progress of our investigation and is supported by a specially trained family liaison officer.”
XL bullies are banned in the UK due to a number of “related” attacks and it is illegal to own one without an exemption certificate.
It is also illegal to breed, sell and abandon dogs.
