Brit Hume’s Hot Take On ‘No Kings’ Protests Gets Royally Roasted: ‘Come On’
Fox News chief political analyst Brit Hume said:There is no king” The protests this weekend quickly led to condemnations and a series of clear reminders.
Rallies seen Millions take to the streets across the country Hume wrote that their expression of anger at the Trump administration’s policies on social media is “mostly” just “a protest against a man who came to power 3 times through democratic elections and implemented his main agenda item by a majority vote of democratically elected members of Congress.”
Then he sneered: “A king.”
Former Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.), a fierce critic of Trump, responded to Hume’s post: “Come on. You know what that means. Of course he’s not a real king because we won’t let him be. But our nation was founded on fighting corruption, distributing power to the people, and keeping everyone equal under the law.”
Kinzinger reminded Hume how Trump “tried to overthrow a free election, pardoned 1,000 criminals, and brought Congress to its knees.” Oh, not to mention the Epstein files and his $400 million free jet that we would pay $1 billion to upgrade and give to him.”
“Golden palaces, ballrooms and colossal arches are not the work of someone seeking modest power,” he concluded.
Other commentators echoed Kinzinger’s view, saying the “No to Kings” slogan was not real but reflected broader fears about authoritarianism and the erosion of democratic norms in Trump’s second term.
