After three years of volunteering and fighting for Ukraine, a British who returned home, said that Russian forces saw that war crimes were “toned”. West Sussex is believed to be one of the only few British citizens placed in Russia’s Kursk region during the attack of Ukraine last summer.

The West said that the Kremlin expects Ukraine to fall within three days, but after about a month of fighting, Russian troops began to withdraw from Kiev.

Mr. Cribb remained in the country by providing medical aid and training in Kharkiv before joining Ukraine’s 2nd International Legion.

Although he joined the French foreign legion for the “very short time window”, he said he had never had a military experience before.

Mr. Cribb said he was not a war tourist and he would not see anyone he worked with as one.

Since its establishment in 2022, it is not clear how many people have registered in the international legion of Ukraine, but it is believed to be thousands.

In 2024, Mr. Cribb became a Recce drone pilot and soldier and hoped that the Ukrainian forces could be used as a bargaining chip in Kursk’s peace talks.
