British couple pass through airport security with 10in steak knife in their bag without being stopped

A British couple launched an airport security investigation after passing with a 10 -inch steak knife in hand baggage.

When Michael and Kathryn Roper made shocking discoveries, they enjoyed a pinch before the flight in the departure hall in Leeds Bradford Airport.

They carried a sharp knife with a six -inch knife placed in the bag.

The retired couple, 64 and 72, were going to the holiday homes in Spain when they noticed that the goods were shifted from uncomfortable security.

Kathryn from Oxenhope near Bradford said he left in his bag after using it to cut the cake while visiting his stepfather in the early hours of that day.

The couple stunned by the surveillance, immediately warned the safety of the airport.

The knife was quickly confiscated by the security chief, but the double blunder brought serious questions about security.

Mr. Roper said: ‘Either the browsers were not working properly or the man looking at the bag station does not pay attention.

“ `My wife was down to see her old stepfather, she bought a knife and some cake for her.

“ Put the knife in the bag, our passports, bags and so on. He took it and went.

“ “ We passed the security, we drank a beer and took it out, and it was like ‘Oh my God’.

“ We both fought, shocked that no one noticed – we could not believe it. ‘

The incident sounds like Leeds Bradford Airport, along with other people throughout the UK, loosening hand luggage rules and now allowing passengers to carry fluids up to 1000 ml through security.

According to PUB landlords, when they arrived at the airport, they passed through new browsers that you no longer need to buy fluid from your bags.

Then they went to the departure room and drank a glass when they came across a knife.

The couple announced that they were not sure what to do, but finally decided that the best way of movement was that Michael returned from confidence and informs the chef there.

Michael said: ‘We’re stuck with an aggressive gun, a sharp steak knife, the air side.

Michael said that the ordeal brought back 9/11 memories and that more care should be taken to ensure that nothing like this is again.

The airport in Yeadon confirmed that the internal investigation continues.
