Prince Harry has hired a PR agency called Run Communications to help promote the Birmingham Invictus Games, 2027. The firm will lead campaigns across media relations and social media, and work with sports agency Goodform on marketing and digital insights, and business solutions partner Champions on commercial partnerships and sponsorship.
Together, the agencies will increase awareness and participation in the Invictus Games, an international multi-sport event for wounded, injured and ill military personnel and veterans founded by Prince Harry in 2014. Jess Arnold, managing director of Run Communications, said: Public Relations Week: “It is a great privilege to be appointed as communications partner for Invictus Games Birmingham 2027.
“The Invictus Games represent resilience, purpose and progress, and our role is to help tell these stories with credibility, care and impact. Working with Goodform and Champions allows us to take a truly integrated approach that reflects the scale and importance of next year’s Games.”
The 2027 Games will take place in Birmingham between 10-17 July 2027, with events being held at the NEC and Sandwell Aquatics Centre. The event will host 550 competitors from more than 25 countries competing in 12 adaptive sports.
Ritchie Rebbeck, Invictus Games Birmingham 2027 communications director, said: “As we move towards 2027, it was vital to appoint partners who understand both the responsibility and privilege of telling the Invictus story.
“Run Communications, Goodform and Champions each bring deep expertise and together they will help us connect people to the Games in meaningful, inclusive and lasting ways.”
No official announcement has been made yet, but a source has previously stated that “it is likely that he will attend”, adding that he has attended every countdown ceremony since it was launched in 2014.
The UK-backed bid for Birmingham was pitted against six cities around the world and the city won thanks to its strong commitment to the welfare and recovery of serving staff and veterans.
