Brits told ‘check your wallet’ as Euromillions winner has only days to claim £177k prize | UK | News

The EuroMillions winner is yet to step forward after winning the £177,000 top prize, with just a week left to claim the prize. The winning ticket was sold at Watford on January 16 but the buyer has not yet claimed the prize.
However, time is running out for the lucky ticket holder as the deadline to claim the prize is midnight on Wednesday, July 15th. Lottery organizers are urging people to “check their wallets and drawers”. The winning EuroMillions numbers in the draw held on January 16 were 5, 17, 24, 29, 50, while the Lucky Star numbers were 5 and 10.
Andy Carter, senior lucky winner advisor at National Lottery operator Allwyn, said: “Time is running out for this mystery winner.
“In just a week’s time, the deadline to claim this £177,547.30 EuroMillions prize will end, so we’re asking anyone who may have purchased tickets in the area to do a final thorough check.”
“We have searched for more than five months, but there is still time for this lucky ticket holder to appear. Check the kitchen drawer, your wallet, the glove compartment of the car, the pockets of old coats and bags, anywhere the ticket could be hidden and forgotten.
“With just a few days left, we’ll also be asking people to spread the word. Talk to friends, family, neighbors and colleagues who may have played EuroMillions in January. Our priority is to make sure this prize reaches its rightful owner before the deadline and this incredible opportunity is lost forever.”
EuroMillions draws take place every Tuesday and Friday. To play, people can choose five main numbers from 1 to 50 and two Lucky Star numbers from 1 to 12.
However, you can also enter the draw by selecting ‘Lucky Dip’. There are 13 different prize tiers and the jackpot is capped at €250 million/£213 million.
