Denver Broncos wide receiver Pat Bryant was carted off the field in a loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars after a violent hit that was scary to look at.

As Bryant attempted to catch the ball with just seconds left at Empower Field, Jaguars cornerback Montaric Brown came flying in and hit him, breaking it up.

How hard Bryant was hit could be heard on the broadcast, which captured the crunch of helmets and pads as he made his way to the field.

Bryant remained on the field after the play, hardly moving as Broncos coaches rushed the field and looked at him.

After a few minutes of evaluation, Bryant was loaded onto a stretcher and carried off the field. While there was concern for Bryant throughout the stadium, it was later reported that he was hospitalized as a precaution.

According to 9News’ Mike Klis, Broncos head coach Sean Payton gave an update on Bryant speaking after his first loss in 12 games, saying “there’s movement” in his players’ actions and it’s “encouraging” to see that.

Of course, whenever a player gets on a stretcher, the worst thoughts immediately come to mind. Luckily, Bryant’s hospital visit was just to make sure everything was okay.

The Broncos improved to 12-3 following the home loss, falling 34-20 to a red-hot Jaguars team that has now won six straight games.

At 11-4, the Jaguars remain one win ahead of the Houston Texans for the AFC South lead, but will likely make the playoffs one way or another.

Meanwhile, the Broncos have already clinched their shot at the Vince Lombardi Trophy by winning 12 games this season, the best record in the AFC to date. Only the New England Patriots would reach 12 wins this week if they beat the Baltimore Ravens on “Sunday Night Football.”
