Brooke George: Mum reveals chilling final phone call before Bill Treeby’s death in Dubai

A recent phone call between the British influencer and her mother has revealed chilling new details about the hours before she was accused of murdering her boyfriend in Dubai; The 23-year-old was said to be “crying uncontrollably” and “completely terrified”.
Brooke George, of Gravesend, Kent, is facing murder charges over the death of her British boyfriend Bill Treeby, 26, after he allegedly stabbed her during a confrontation at his Dubai flat last month.
The TikTok creator claims he acted in self-defense after enduring months of harassment allegations and only grabbed the kitchen knife after fearing for his life. If convicted, he could be sentenced to death by firing squad under United Arab Emirates law.
Now her mother, Thereza George, has broken her silence by describing a series of conversations she believes show her daughter’s danger escalated before the fatal incident.
He said Brooke returned to Dubai believing she had rekindled her relationship with Treeby, but she immediately sensed something had changed. Mirror clarified.
“The dynamic between them clearly changed after Brooke returned to Dubai for the second time,” he said.
“The day before it happened, he didn’t seem like himself. He was quieter and not his usual happy, cheerful self, but he didn’t tell me why.”
The next day, Ms. George said, after learning about the stabbing, she received a phone call she will never forget.
“They went to a bar in Dubai that evening. When I spoke to Brooke immediately after the incident, she was terrified. I had never seen my daughter so scared in my life. She was crying uncontrollably. I could see one of her eyes was badly swollen and starting to close.”
“As Brooke’s mother, I am deeply concerned for her welfare. The girl I spoke to that night was completely terrified. I firmly believe she was desperately trying to return home to escape what had happened to her.”
The new allegations come after it was revealed that Treeby had previously been convicted of unlawful wounding and common assault for an attack involving a man and a woman in Britain in 2023. He was sentenced to 14 months’ imprisonment, suspended for two years.
The London-based Detained in Dubai advocacy group, which is helping Ms George, claims her family and friends are “increasingly concerned” that she was brought back to the UAE under false pretenses and is being exploited.
The organization claims Treeby had become increasingly controlling before the incident, giving him Ms George’s passport, admitting to friends that “things weren’t right” and feeling he “had to run away”.
Called for a wider investigation Detained in Dubai CEO Radha Stirling called on authorities to examine all electronic devices linked to the case.
“Given these allegations, we call on UAE authorities to preserve and forensically examine all electronic devices, computers, mobile phones, online accounts and digital communications linked to the deceased and any associates to determine whether Brooke was targeted for exploitation and whether others were also victims.”
A UK Foreign Office spokesman confirmed officials were continuing to provide consular support.
“We are in contact with a British woman detained in the UAE, providing support to her family and in contact with local authorities.”
