BRS Begins Prep for City Civic Polls

Hyderabad: BRS on Saturday signaled that it is gearing up for civic body elections in Hyderabad, with party working president KT Rama Rao launching a frontal attack on Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for allegedly ignoring Hyderabad in pursuit of “real estate deals in Future City”.
Rama Rao, who met the party’s MLAs, MLCs and senior leaders from Hyderabad district, said that the city had witnessed rapid progress and development in the 10 years of BRS rule but is now weakened under the Congress government. “While people are facing numerous problems ranging from lack of sanitation to safe roads to public transport, the commercial and industrial sectors have also taken a hit during the same period,” said Rama Rao.
Party MLC Dr. He appointed Sravan Dasoju and former MLC Karne Prabhakar to oversee preparations for the GHMC elections; For Malkajgiri and Cyberabad municipal corporations, the duties will be held by MLCs Shambhipur Raju and Pochampalli Srinivas Reddy respectively.
He accused the state government of failing to control the mosquito menace, failing to ensure adequate drinking water supply and claimed that people in the city were facing numerous problems. “A decade of progress under the BRS administration, which put Hyderabad on the global map, is being destroyed,” he alleged.
