China’s Largest Aircraft Carrier Hits The Sea; J-15T, J-35 Jets To Be Deployed – A Threat From Taiwan To The Indian Ocean? | World News

Beijing: China carried the most powerful aircraft carrier Fujian Type 003 to open waters. This step points to China’s one milestone for sea development. The ship was completely built by Chinese engineers. The launch system in the carrier uses electromagnetic catapults similar to the technology used by the USA. Now it has this ability in only two countries: United States and China.
Beijing state publisher CCTV published images of the aircraft carrier at sea. The video showed flight tests with the J-15T fighter aircraft. This aircraft is a newer version of the J-15 based on Russian SU-33 design. With other aircraft such as J-15T, Stealth J-35, it may soon be a regular feature in the carrier. It plans to test different types of aircraft, including navy, training aircraft and surveillance aircraft.
China already has two carriers: Liaoning and Shandong. It rises to a total of three with Fujian. Another carrier is under the 004 type construction phase. China wants to have at least six carriers in service until 2035. Fujian, which is about 80,000 tons, is heavier than the previous ones, but still lighter than the largest carriers of the US Navy. For example, USS Gerald R. Ford is displaced over 100,000 tons.
Fujian’s design has several unique features. The island structure is shaped to reduce radar detection. The deck supports advanced radar and electronic systems. China says Fujian can carry 50 to 60 fighter planes. This can reduce the time required for China to respond in a crisis.
In contrast, India moves more slowly. Two carriers operate: Ins Vikramadity and Ins Vikrant. For a third carrier, plans remain uncertain. Some military leaders question the value of large ships of long -range missiles. Former defense chief General Bipin Rawat supported more submarines instead. India is currently working on six submarines within the scope of Project 76.
IAC-3 or Ins Vishal was once considered the next step for India. However, the project has faced delays. Costs are high. Technology is complex. India has not committed to building it so far. Defense Minister Rajnath said that a new carrier will be built in 2024. However, this can refer to adding one -third of a third ship.
The Chinese navy is moving in a different direction. Authorities say Fujian could be put into full service until the end of 2025. When this happens, China will usually be two active carriers at sea. The third may return for repair.
Fujian’s launch plans to expand China’s existence in the oceans. The ship is not limited to nearby waters. It can work throughout Indo-Pacific. Future carriers, including 004 type, can be nuclear energy. China also plans to use drones, helicopters and early warning planes alongside fighters.
The aim is to build a navy that can operate anywhere in China. Fujian is a big step towards the future.
