BRS Warns Against Deletion of Genuine Voters in SIR

Nalgonda: BRS general secretary and Nalgonda’s RS in-charge Praveen Kumar on Saturday asked the party’s Booth Level Representatives (BLAs) to be careful during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process and prevent genuine voters from being deleted from the electoral rolls.

Addressing an awareness program about SIR and the digital membership drive, he claimed that the BJP benefited in the last Assembly elections in West Bengal and Bihar due to the deletion of votes of those supporting regional parties. He showed the seriousness of the issue by claiming that even former Union Minister Smriti Irani’s votes were deleted. He warned that votes of BRS supporters may also be removed if BLAs fail to follow the process.

He advised BLAs to be present when Booth Level Officers visit households for SIR surveys and assist voters in producing required documents.

Former minister and BRS MLA G. Jagadish Reddy alleged that the Chief Minister was planning a massive scam in connection with the proposed Rs 13,000 crore HAM road project in Nalgonda and the foundation stone was expected to be laid on June 17. He termed the incident as roads and works minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy’s attempt to please the Chief Minister and claimed that development in Nalgonda had stalled in the last two and a half years.

Among those present at the meeting were MLC Mankena Koti Reddy and former MLA Kancherla Bhupal Reddy.
