Bruce Springsteen defines critical patriotism in latest Trump attack

Bruce Springsteen is stepping into politics once again.
The Boss, a longtime foe of President Donald Trump and his administration, delved into his own definition of true patriotism in his latest PBS special, “Bruce Springsteen: Finding America in Song.”
“I believe in critical patriotism,” Springsteen said. “I think that’s the definition of a patriot; you love your country so much that you’re willing to look at it openly, recognize its faults, encourage it to be a better place, and believe that you carry in your heart the country that awaits you.”

The powerful Democrat backed Joe Biden in his bid for the White House in 2020 and then backed Kamala Harris in 2024, calling Trump “the most dangerous presidential candidate in my lifetime.”

Earlier this year, Springsteen released an anti-ICE protest song called “Streets of Minneapolis,” which he said was in honor of “innocent immigrant neighbors” and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good, who were shot and killed in January while protesting immigration crackdowns in Minneapolis.

During a recent performance in New Jersey, Springsteen challenged his audience to “choose hope over fear, democracy over authoritarianism, the rule of law over lawlessness, ethics over rampant corruption, resistance over complacency, truth over lies, unity over division, and peace over war.”
Representatives for Springsteen did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
