Bryan Johnson reversed his age by a decade… now he’s detoxed 85% of toxic plastics with simple daily habit

Biohacker Bryan Johnson claims to have ‘eliminated’ most of the toxic microplastics from his body in less than a year.

The 48-year-old man, who claims to be biologically less than a decade younger, wrote on

And microplastics in his blood allegedly decreased by 85 percent between October 2024 and May 2025, from 70 particles/mL to 10 particles/mL.

Microplastics are tiny particles, smaller than grains of sand, that seep into the bloodstream from food containers, water, baby toys and even face masks popularized by the Covid outbreak. From there, they accumulate in the brain, heart, and other vital organs, leading to widespread inflammation, infertility, and potentially some types of cancer.

Nearly all people have microplastics circulating in their bodies, and studies estimate that the average person eats 50,000 of these particles each year.

While research is still ongoing into exactly where microplastics come from, experts suggest that avoiding plastic food containers, switching to nonstick cookware, and substituting toilet paper for bidets can gradually slow exposure.

Johnson claims that using a sauna for 20 minutes every day helps her sweat out microplastics, as well as cutting out microwavable plastic containers and plastic cutting boards.

He also introduced the reverse osmosis water system, a device that uses a high-pressure pump to force water through a barrier with extremely small pores that allow water to pass through but trap harmful contaminants.

But evidence is limited for devices costing more than $600.

‘My results offer a new sense of hope for the detoxification of microplastics in testicles and semen, especially after concerns raised by a study last year.’

The study in question was published in the journal last May Toxicological SciencesThey looked at microplastic levels in 23 testicles taken from dead men, as well as testicular tissue taken from dead dogs.

All tested showed detectable levels of 12 types of microplastics, which researchers warned could lead to low sperm count and infertility.

A. recent meta-analysis For example, all 36 studies found that microplastics triggered oxidative stress in male reproductive organs, leading to testicular inflammation, cell death, and reduced testosterone levels, sperm production, and motility—how well sperm move to fertilize an egg.

Johnson said: ‘Microplastics in testicles and semen can disrupt sperm motility, hormones and fertility markers. good news [is] Based on my results, this all appears to be reversible.’

Johnson claimed that he used a sauna at 200 degrees Fahrenheit (93 degrees Celsius) for 20 minutes every day and then put ice on his testicles.

‘We think the sauna is most responsible for this reduction because it also removes many of the environmental toxins from my body, including those linked to various plastics,’ he said.

Saunas cause intense sweating, a process that can help filter chemicals found in microplastics such as BPA and phthalates from the body. However, the relationship between saunas and microplastics has not been specifically investigated.

Applying ice to the testicles is thought to help protect against sperm damage caused by intense heat.

As for plastic kitchen utensils, a study published in February found that regularly eating from plastic utensils increased the risk of heart failure by 13 percent due to microplastics damaging heart tissues.

It’s unclear exactly how Johnson tested microplastic blood and semen levels and whether he maintained that progress.
